PETRO-TAPE is a rugged, inert and highly resistant tape. It's impervious to steam, salt water, air, fuels, refrigerants, acids and alkalis (including sulfuric, hydrochloric, nitric, sodium hydroxide and chromic), solvents (including kerosene, aircraft oils, gasoline, diesel, carbon tet. and cleaning fluids), gases (including liquid and gaseous oxygen, hydrogen, ammonia, freon, chlorine, propane, natural gas, butane, acetylene and nitrogen). PETRO-TAPE NICKEL is a thick, premium-density tape that permits quick, clean sealing of threaded pipe connections. Its PTFE base provides natural lubrication of the joint, while its nickel filler prevents galling of the threads which is common in stainless steel assemblies. PETRO-TAPE NICKEL is ≥4-mil thick and contains a gray pigment for easy identification, and distinguishes it from lower density, general purpose thread sealant tapes.
